Wool is a fantastic, natural bedding material. It is highly sought after worldwide for its superior insulation qualities. It efficiently regulates the temperature and moisture around your body for ultimate sleeping comfort, keeping you warm in cold conditions and cool in hot. This is achieved by insulating you from both cold and heat extremes, breathing and wicking moisture away from your body. The average person gives off a pint of water vapour each night and wool has the ability to absorb and release large amounts of moisture without feeling clammy. No other fibre does this as well. Wool is also naturally antibacterial and flame resistant. It is ideal for anyone sensitive to allergies from down or synthetic materials, or for anyone looking for natural, healthy bedding.
Wool duvets are created by blending and combing the wool fibres into layers to form a thick padding. As the wool fibres are interlocked, they do not move as freely as feather and down. Simply quilting the wool in channels with a straight stitch is all that is required to hold the filling in place and ensure an even distribution of warmth.
Our natural wool bedware is made using premium grade wool and is manufactured by Mi Woollies at our long established factory located in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our 500gsm wool duvet is a three season duvet (comforter) option that is ideal for Autumn, Winter and Spring use. It is the most popular weight for cooler or temperate climates. See our 350gsm Wool Duvet for warmer climates; or our All Seasons Wool Duvet: a combo including a 200gsm and 300gsm wool duvet that dome together to become 500gsm when needed.
- 500gsm (grams per square metre) weight. Approximately equivalent to 10-12 tog, or 3-4 good quality blankets.
- Filled with wool fleece hand selected for maximum loft retention to ensure loft, resilience and stability is maintained.
- Encased in highest quality Japara cotton (233 threads per square inch). Tightly woven to ensure no wool filling escapes.
- Straight weave quilting to hold the filling in place and beautifully finished with bound edges.
- Packaged in plastic carry bag.
- New Zealand made.
Caring for your Bedding:
Please follow those provided on the packaging and on labels attached to the duvets themselves. Wool Duvets are best dry cleaned, but with a duvet cover they should seldom need cleaning, just air regularly to retain freshness.

Really happy
We ordered two wool duvet's for our daughters and have been really happy with them. The girls wake up saying they were warm all night (for context, we don't heat their bedroom while they sleep and live in Nelson). The blankets had a sheep smell in the beginning, but that's faded over the past few weeks. Would definitely purchase again.

I bought this because of my allergy to dust. My old duvet inner was duck down. The weight on our new duvet means that we don't need extra blankets on the the bed.

WARM AND WEIGHTLESS
I would describe this wool duvet inner as an essential for your bed in a North Island winter. Both the inner and outer materials are natural and breathable, and on the bed it feels weightless yet warm and cosy. Apart from the above, it is NZ made and exceptional value for money.

worth every penny
I bought one 10 years ago during a business trip, and used it on and off since then. During the same period, I have gone through 3-4 down comforters because after a little while down will all go to the corner that you do not use. Sure anyone who have down comforters know what I am talking about. Not this. I do not see any of that after 10 years. So I just bought 3 more for everyone in the family. This company not only has the best product, it is also the cheapest. You cannot find anything close to this quality from Amazon. The shipment cost is pretty substantial to the US, but the total cost still beat any reasonable quality down comforter and you know this will last many times longer. There is one improvement area: the company does not make cover for it so you have to buy cover from somewhere else. In US, that means different sizes. I bought larger sized covers and modified myself, not a big deal but wished they would sell cover as well.
