Alpaca is a fantastic, natural bedding material. It is highly sought after worldwide for its superior insulation qualities. The light, clean alpaca fibre offers a superior warmth. It is light in weight and is moisture absorbent. The duvets are seasonally comfortable in winter or summer thanks to those qualities. Warmth testing on alpaca duvets has shown that they are much warmer than their wool equivalents. 

Alpaca duvets are created by blending and combing the alpaca fibres into layers to form a thick padding. As the alpaca fibres are interlocked, they do not move as freely as feather and down. Simply quilting the alpaca blend in channels with a straight stitch is all that is required to hold the filling in place and ensure an even distribution of warmth.

Our natural alpaca bedware is made using premium grade alpaca and is manufactured by Mi Woollies at our long established factory located in Christchurch, New Zealand. Features:

The 350gsm Alpaca Duvet is fine for year round use in a normal heated house or in temperate climates. 

• 350gsm (grams per square metre) weight. Approximately equivalent to 5-8 tog, or two good quality blankets.
• Filled with alpaca rich fleece filling that has been blended 55% Alpaca Fibre, 20% Bonding Fibre and 25% Polyester.
• Encased in highest quality Japara cotton (233 threads per square inch). Tightly woven to ensure no alpaca filling escapes.
• Straight weave quilting to hold the filling in place and beautifully finished with bound edges.
• Packaged in plastic carry bag.
• New Zealand made. 

Caring for your Bedding:

Please follow those provided on the packaging and on labels attached to the duvets themselves. Alpaca Duvets are best dry cleaned, but with a duvet cover they should seldom need cleaning, just air regularly to retain freshness.
